Tours re-commencing on 10th September for the upcoming 2022-23 season

Your Great Ocean Road Tour

Much More Than Just a Day Tour

1 Day Tour

Start your eagerly-anticipated day on the Great Ocean Road early (7AM), to get ahead of the crowds and have most of the morning lookouts to yourself. Enjoy more photo stops along the golden, wave-swept beaches of the Surf Coast to give you the perfect start to a day to remember.

Prepare to be in awe of the ever-changing landscapes, the white sandy beaches, Aqua coloured Ocean,Green Coated Mountains and our grand finale, the world-renowned 12 Apostles and simply breathtaking Loch Ard Gorge.

To cater for your early start, each guest will be given a light breakfast snack pack containing – serve of fruit, muesli bar, fruit juice, cheese and crackers, raisin and nut selection. There is also an early opportunity to grab a coffee-on-the-go once we have beaten the morning rush hour traffic out of the city.

Spend your time watching for an abundance of wildlife along the route, including seals, whales, giant eagles, scatterings of cockatoos and king parrots, and the Aussie favourites, the kangaroos and koalas. Spend time searching for these iconic animals during your tour along this sandstone and wind-swept coastline.

Listen to stories that bring the coastline and its native animals to life as you are driven in comfort in a fully air-conditioned vehicle. Join in our chats and also enjoy some quiet time as we realise the importance of being able to sit and marvel at the scenery without constant chatter around you.

We make a lunch-break stop in the small coastal town of Apollo Bay with the option to purchase some lunch treats from an award winning local bakery. You also have a choice of many other local cafes and eateries should you so wish.

After lunch, you will be taken on a 25 minute guided walk through one of the areas much coveted local rainforests. This gentle gradient has an equal abundance of beauty and history behind it.

Your day builds up to a crescendo of anticipation as we drive towards the Shipwreck Coast and the world-famous 12 Apostles. During the journey, you hear stories including the naming of these limestone wonders, how they were formed, and some history of the rugged Shipwreck Coast you are entering.

You arrive at the 12 Apostles Marine National Park and have the chance to spend time viewing and photographing the emotion-raising limestone pillars you have waited so long to see. Take some time to just stand and stare. Because we arrive ahead of the huge afternoon crowds, you have some extra time to feel a part of the biblically named formations. You will not need to be reminded to smile when you come back to the vehicle.

A fitting Finale to this Stunning Coastline is Loch Ard Gorge, named after the 300-foot clipper the Loch Ard, which was sensationally wrecked here in 1878, losing 52 of her 54 souls on board. Enjoy the best part of an hour exploring this mind-blowing section of the coast and just be in awe of the Razorback, Double Arch, and Island Arch formations, plus the Shipwreck Walk and the breath-taking beach of the Loch Ard Gorge. You will remember this forever.

Enjoy some relax time during the trip home as you drive through sheep and cattle grazing farms, dairy farms, and Aussie bush. You can have a well earned nap, or simply sit back and enjoy the drive through the Victorian farmland.

You will be back in the City approximately by 7pm thinking to yourself, “Wow, what a Day”

You may also add an extra hour to your tour for an additional $70. This option can be added on the day of your tour, but is only available during summer daylight savings – October through to March (due to limited daylight hours).

2 Day Tour

Often, (international) visitors to Melbourne don’t quite have the luxury of time on their side, but it is common knowledge amongst locals and travel experts alike, that the Great Ocean Road is best seen over 2 days, and therefore, this is our recommended tour. During a 1 Day tour, we cover over 500+ kilometres with 8 hours of in-car touring. A 2 Day Tour will halve the amount of time you spend in the car, as we split the driving time equally over the 2 days. You will not only go at a more relaxed pace, you will also get more time at each location, get to enjoy an overnight stay in the picturesque town of Apollo Bay (*own cost), see all the most popular sites on the road covered on the 1 Day Tour, but also have the chance to visit the following additional attractions :

Kangaroo buggy tour – Conducted at a location we prefer to keep secret. This is perhaps one of the highlights, where you will be taken around private property on a purpose built buggy with a specialist kangaroo expert. You will not only get closer to kangaroo’s than you normally would do in the wild, but you will also learn first hand about one of Australia’s most loved animals.

London Bridge – A famous stack which unexpectedly collapsed in 1990. Hear the tales of the stranded tourists who were rescued by helicopter. Perhaps not as famous as the 12 Apostles, but some say equally as impressive.

Melba Gully Rainforest Walk – guided Rainforest walk where you can choose from a gentle grade, or a more strenuous circuit for those looking for more of a challenge, with a reward of a waterfall at the end.

Gibson Steps – You will have time to step down onto the golden sands of and get a great appreciation for for the size and grandeur of the coastline.

The Grotto – Yet another impressive rock formation carved out over millions of years of erosion, from the power of the waves ripping through the base of the Arch.

Waterfall walk – This is dependant on the time of year and recent rain fall levels. Your guide can select the appropriate waterfall to visit depending on your visitation date and also the fitness level of the group.

Mariners Lookout – This lookout gives you a birds-eye view of Apollo Bay, where your guide can point out landmarks from above, before giving you a quick tour at street level of the town itself.

Sunrise in Apollo Bay – Waking up in Apollo Bay, you will have front row seats to what is often a spectacular sunrise over the beach and hinterland forest background. Of course, this is Victoria, and the weather doesn’t always decide to play ball as we would like it too!

Helicopter Joyflight – The 2 Day Tour also gives you the opportunity to add on a Joyflight onto your tour itinerary (prices start at $165 AUD – 15 minutes joy flight). We have a great relationship with these local operators, so this joy flight option can be added on the day of the tour and does NOT need to be pre-booked. Your guide can discuss flight options with you before booking.

We also can offer a 3 Day Tour Option, where you can really get off the beaten track and enjoy some additional extended hikes and activities in the local area (such Beach Horse Riding, Platypus Canoe Tours, Zip Lining, Mountain Biking etc). However, in our opinion, the 2 Day Tour will really cover the main highlights of the road, and is still our recommended tour.

*All food, beverage and accommodation is at own cost (with the exception of the breakfast pack provided on our 1 Day Tour)

**We can provide recommendations on accommodation once you have made a booking. We will offer 3 choices from budget, mid-range and high end, along with with prices, booking links and what we think are the best options. You may also wish to search out your own accommodation.
